After week off, Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo gear up for Round #5 June 2ndracepmg
Watsonville, CA – After being dark for Memorial Day, Ocean Speedway revs back up Friday night for Round #5 of the Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo. Last time out, Selma’s Cory Eliason, this time driving his family’s car, drove to victory lane for the second time and became the first repeat winner this season. Fellow Central Valley competitors, Easton’s Tommy Tarlton and Hanford’s DJ Netto, completed the podium. Watsonville’s Justin Sanders extended his lead in the point standings and now holds a 16-point advantage over Geoff Ensign of Sebastopol. Gilroy’s Kurt Nelson and Stockton’s Brad Furr are in a tight battle for third, 40 and 43 points behind Sanders, respectively.
The IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, American Stocks, and 4-Bangers join the night’s program. Pits open at 2pm and Grandstands open at 4:30pm. Pit passes are $45 for non-members and $40 for track and IMCA members. 2017 memberships are still available at the pit gate. All seating is general admission and tickets cost $17 for adults and $16 for seniors. New for 2017, Juniors 12-15 are $12 and Kids 6-11 are $6. As always, Kids 5 and under are free.
“The Ageless Wonder” Tony Oliveira won his first American Stock feature of the year May 19th and will look for two in a row this Friday.
