Four Division Program Kicks Off Month of May at Ocean Speedway

Watsonville, CA – The Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo are back in action once again this Friday, May 3rd.  Last week, Campbell’s Bud Kaeding won for the second week in a row driving the car his dad made famous.  Justin Sanders came close to winning his first of the year, but had to settle for second again.  Stockton’s Brad Furr was in contention for the win as well and came home third.  Lemoore’s Cole Macedo and Lincoln’s Blake Carrick completed the top five.  Jeremy Chisum leads his brother, Jason, in the unadjusted point standings.  This year, each driver will drop their two lowest scoring nights.

The IMCA Modifieds are back again for a second week in a row.  Prunedale’s Jim Pettit II picked up an emotional victory last week holding off Santa Maria young gun Dylan Thornton.  Salinas’ Austin Burke, Livermore’s Brian Cass, and San Martin’s Jeff Decker rounded out the top five.  Two races in to 2019, Brian Cass and Austin Burke are tied atop the championship standings.

The IMCA SportMods are finally back in action after a couple weeks off.  Adriane Frost of Watsonville won on Opening Night after a great race with San Jose’s Randy Miller and Gilroy’s Austin Williams.  San Ramon’s Kelly Campanile and Santa Cruz’s Steven Allee were the rest of the top five.

The Four Bangers are also on the card for a second week in a row.  Last week, Prunedale’s John Grilli dominated to win his first career feature.  Watsonville’s Tony Gullo finished second in his debut, with the Beadsley family – Nicole, Kate, and father Bill completing the top five.  Points are being reviewed after a potential disqualification on Opening Night.
