Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo Return After Month Awayracepmg
Watsonville, CA – The Ocean Sprints pres. by Taco Bravo return to action after over a month off this Friday night. Back on May 11th, Campbell’s Bud Kaeding drove his way to his second win of the 2018 season. Lemoore’s Cole Macedo had one of his best runs of his career, coming home second. Watsonville’s Justin Sanders came in third and Tracy’s Kyle Offill grabbed his first top five of the year in fourth. Stockton’s Brad Furr rounded out the top five. Fresno’s Koen Shaw leads the Ocean Sprints championship standings by 8 points over Brad Furr. Kyle Offill, Jeremy Chisum of Salinas, and Gilroy’s Kurt Nelson complete the current top five in the point standings.
In the American Stocks, San Jose’s Robert Gallaher turned up the wick on his championship hunt, taking his third win of the year and his second in a row last Friday. Watsonville’s Tony Oliveira took second ahead of Matt Kile and John Farrell, both of San Jose, and Joe Gallaher. Without factoring in the two drop dates, Matt Kile leads Robert Gallaher by 30 points.
The Four Bangers currently have the tightest points’ battle at the speedway. Last Friday, Felton’s Nicole Beardsley became the sixth different winner in the division this year and threw her name in the running for the championship. She sits 4 points behind Dakota Keldsen, who finished second at last week’s race. Abigail Kennedy of Watsonville, Felton’s Bill Beardsley, and San Jose’s Ray Bunn completed the top five. Behind Keldsen and Nicole Beardsley, Kate Beardsley and Abigail Kennedy are tied for third, 7 points out of the lead.
Pits are scheduled to open at 2pm and Grandstands will open at 4:30pm. Pit passes are $40 for track members and $45 for non-members. All seating is general admission and tickets cost $17 for adults and $16 for seniors. Juniors 12-15 are $12 and Kids 6-11 are $6 and Kids 5 and under are free.
